Buyers are strongly urged to contact their insurance brokers to cover goods in transit before shipping is carried out. Henceforth, ANY damages that occur during or after transit are not covered under warranty. Such damages will be for the account of the buyer.
Buyers should also be aware that prices quoted are to deliver orders to the "ground floor" of a premises only. Should buyers require that goods be moved around "tight" corners or to higher floors via elevators, stairs or escalators or be hoisted over balconies, then they should either get additional staff (at their cost) or accept that there is/will be a very high risk of items getting damaged in the process or under such conditions. As stated above, such damages should they occur are not covered under warranty.
Delivery staff are not authorized to remove/modify/alter security gates, windows, doors, dry walls or any other structure to get goods indoors. Should this be required, then buyers are to provide (at their own cost) builders, carpenters or qualified artisans to be on site to do so. Buyers who insist that delivery staff do so must be aware of the high risk of damage to either goods being delivered or to said structures. In such cases, we accept no responsibility to rectify or repair said issues at our cost. Buyers who feel that this is not acceptable are urged not proceed with an order. If however an order is placed, then it is our understanding that buyers fully agree with this clause. All deliveries are done by highly experienced staff who have been doing so for a number of years. We strongly urge that buyers do not "assist" delivery staff with carrying/moving products or opening plastic wrapping or boxes. Doing so will mean that we are completely unable to hold shipping and/or delivery staff accountable or responsible regarding any damage claims or allegations. Buyer's cooperation in this regard is much appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: Delivery contractors have been instructed to let goods be inspected and signed for before they (goods) enter any premises. We have had cases where clients move furniture around after delivery staff have left the premises then damage them, then attempt to hold us liable. It is our company policy with drivers that they are not to carry goods indoors unless signed for first. Buyer's cooperation in this regard is highly appreciated.
Buyers must please ensure that areas where goods are to be put are completely clear of any items (ornaments, breakables, loose carpets etc) that may easily be damaged or cause mishaps due to furniture items being set in place. Many of our items are bulky and heavy making maneuverability very tricky, hence we don't accept responsibility for unavoidable breakages or damages where items could have been removed beforehand. G.I.T. (Goods In Transit) insurance against damages is available if so requested. The cost of such insurance is 2.5% of the value of the goods plus an excess fee of R10,000 payable should any damage/s occur and a claim being processed. It should be understood that such insurance can be added at the buyer's written request and is not included in prices advertised, quoted or given. Buyers who choose not to use this option need to be aware that neither ourselves nor the shipping/transport companies accept any liability whatsoever should any damage or loss occur during transit. Buyers who feel that this clause is not acceptable are urged not proceed with an order. If however an order is placed without this option, then all risks are carried by the buyer.
